the wall house explores the wall as an architectural element that is simultaneously a barrier and conector and that, moreover, constitutes a plane which determines both the architecture of the constructions and the lifestyle of its inhabitants. the rooms can be reached by following the perimeter of the wall or via the elliptical staircases backing on to it. the wall's susbtantial thickness (5 ft) is apparent from several viewpoints in the house, thereby emphasizing its fundamental importance in the configuration of the project. |
